Elijah Aramis is THREE

Elijah Aramis turned 3 on January 5th. He's been so excited! He selected a Thomas theme. As best we could it was his day. For breakfast he ordered scrambled eggs, sausage and toast with butter and jam. We managed to fit in school after many encores to Happy Birthday to Elijah. Then we headed out with two goals in mind. First, Elijah had a picture session to capture him on his third birthday. The girl did so well. We got there early. She took us then. She had 8 perfect pictures in about 10 minutes and Elijah for the first time got into the session. He could see the monitor with the picture after it was taken and that just made him smile all the more. Then the mission was to find a Thomas balloon. Two stores later we had one secured and blown up. This brought out Caleb's continued fear of helium balloons having had one literally blow out of the house and out into the sky. Caleb recalled details that Jessica had forgotten until then....like the kind of balloon. Lunch was a modest meal of PB and J with a few chips knowing that an early made to order dinner was just around the corner. The menu was mac and cheese from the box, salad with "banch" dressing and "HOT dawgs". Elijah doesn't take a bun with his if the plate picture is throwing you off. Unfortunately, the birthday coincided with the first day of Upward Basketball so thing had to be spread out. The present was opened and played with at church. The birthday dessert was saved for afterwards. Elijah requested none other than his Mama's cherry cheese pie with a Thomas candle in it. We aim to please. Everyone was especially excited when all were served "adult" portions (8ths) instead of kid portions (16ths). The present continued to be a hit through the next morning and Jessica may have taken her favorite picture to date of the best buds together. Did I mention that most of the Happy Birthday encores were Elijah singing it to himself? Enjoy the performance!
