Caleb Geronimo is FIVE

Caleb who has always seemed older than he is since he started running at 8 months turned five yesterday. For breakfast he requested biscuits. For lunch it was mac'n'cheese and He "suggested this meal" for dinner: pancakes with sausage and dirt for dessert. Of course anything the birthday boy suggests in enough advance will happen. Blueberry pancakes along with some plain, then the dirt. Caleb has selected a dinosaur theme which was strung out for him first thing in the morning. His party will be dinosaurs. We had special guests join us since the middle of the table cloth is white. The kids all thought that was pretty special. So bring on the dirt. Consumed by thoughts of dinosaurs--fueled by the most awesome dinosaur toy available which was his birthday present from Pah and Grandma DJ--Caleb wanted dirt. Basically it's a kid's dream dessert using chocolate pudding for color, crushed graham crackers for texture and gummy dinosaurs for paletological fun. Chris and Jessica dealt with some jealousy on Caleb's part over a Christmas toy. We shopped for a 4 year old boy in our area and picked up a hotwheels track that made a loop. It took Caleb almost two weeks to articulate that he REALLY WANTED that. He had never showed any interested in such a toy before. Jess was finishing up some kind of shopping over Christmas Break and found a different kind of track--the kind she and Chris could've only dreamed about back in the day--at Kohl's and promptly bought it at 65% off. Ahh, it's the little things. Well, it's the new hit and very well done. Chris and I can remember getting tracks and they never really worked the way it showed on TV. Apparently Hotwheels has been working hard over the last 25 years and it's paying off. It hooks over the door and releases two cars from the top that zoom down this track. It can even tell the winner with a little flag. There's this little elevator system to pull the cars up to the top of hte door. Very fascinating and exciting. Dinner and presents were actually preceeded by Caleb's birthday photoshoot and our 12 week grocery shop. Caleb set a new record for best pictures in the least amount of time, edging out Elijah by maybe a minute. It's such a pleasure. The girl really captured Caleb and his dinosaur friend. The shop was a success. We may have gotten enough reusable bags to now cover a whole shop. We don't know yet, we forgot the ones we had at home. The kids had their second track practice. We're running well. Rebekah is jumping really well for 6. Actually the only other kids that out jumped her were the 2 dominant athletes in the next two age brackets and the 7-8 bracket wasn't by much. In the picture she nailed the jump and came forward which means they wold measure from her heel. Caleb is working his way back into it. Elijah is learning for the first time. The picture may be kind of be misleading.
