Hadassah Arwen, more pictures

Who does she look like? We don't know. We know she has Jessica's LONG fingers. She has a lot of hair like the other three and Jessica. It's more like Caleb's was. Her picture just about matches Caleb's for hair line and type.

Labor began at 7:50 am with consistent mild contractions every 3-5 minutes. The doctor was called at 10 and we headed to the hospital at 1030. We were admitted to Labor and delivery around noon with the assurance that there would be a baby arriving today. Jaci came to entertain the kids at 1230. Jess got her antibiotics drip at 1.

Finally had the water broken at 320 and 5 cm. The real contractions started coming. Jess lost focus and considered the epidural knowing the kids wanted to be in the room. The doctor said she didn't think it'd kick in before the baby came. Sure enough at 345 Jess was 9 cm. Chris went for the kids and his sister Jill, the nurse went for the doctor. Two contractions later we were at 10 and ready to push. Three pushes and she was here!

Hadassah got the best APGAR score of all the kids--9. On arrival, she and the nurses and the kids and Jill and Chris all went to the other side of the curtain and there was this commentary going on about "how cute!" and "look at her" and "aw" oh and my favorite from CG "now there's space in Mama's tummy for another one!" and Jessica had hardly seen her. A mother's love knows no bounds but did come close to jealousy. The chlidren were absolutely out of themselves.

The entourage exited around 430. For not seeing her immediately the nurses let Hadassah stay in the room a long time after birth. Jess got attended to then they brought the baby back to her side of the curtain. The kids took a breather and Pah, Grandma DJ and Jaci all came to see and take pictures. Hadassah took the record for best latching on, getting on try ONE.

Hadassah found her hands in the nursery and loves sucking on them. Chris picked out a Redskins hat in the nursery. It also is the colors for BHS, go Railroaders!
