Hubert Heever's masterpiece

Earlier this year we learned in school (on a field trip to the C & O canal museum in Brunswick) that the canal, running from Hanover to Georgetown was ultimately one of George Washington's failures. We don't hear about George failing too often but the progress of the railroad out paced the near completion of the towpath rendering it obsolete at its completion. This summer we got to visit the concrete wonder of the world and one of Herbert Hoover's greatest achievements, The Hoover Dam. The things all Shullenbargers noticed was the color of the Colorado River. It rivals the color of Carribean waters. We selected not to do the tour of the facility. We could've seen the museum but we could not tour the facilities because half of our party was too young. The road has been fun to drive. Note Chris' new head gear, picked up touring downtown Prescott. We've added another state to our running total: NV making 11. We added a "bighorn" caution sign to our collection and we saw our first thunderhead.
