It was raining. It was raining A LOT. Haddie got cold and got a new outfit. We ended up having to rig a Haddie carrying instrument because it was across her nap time. We put her legs in the backpack straps and put the pack on. She fell asleep but then happily hiked the last half mile.
4.4 miles is a long way. At the beginning EA was very gung ho. He promised he would carry his pack the whole way. He never complained. He never stopped. He is the green and blue blob above Jessica (red shirt) two pictures above. He rested a long time. He didn't go to the falls right away. He looked very sad. Jessica called him over and asked if he was okay. "Mama, we have to go ALL THE WAY BACK," he whispered. "I know, baby," Jessica answered on the verge of despair herself.
