Day 3 part 2 Cade's Cove

Day 3 was supposed to be Clingman's Dome, but the weather was sketchy (turned out BEAUTIFUL) and the alarm clock (Jess' phone needed charging) died. We over slept the departure time. The back up plan was Tuckaleechee (YAY) and Cade's Cove.
possibly be compared.

It's a Shully thing. We have to stand on everything and ham it up.
Hamming in training.

The front porch is lovely.

Yes, she is this cute. She wants you to notice her "pink shoes".
This entertained Jess.

And the entertainment is cooling and refreshing...

Yes, she's eating a rock. It's a clean rock from the beautiful bubbling creek.
If you look long enough you'll hear the babbling stream.
Macaroni's digging the new surroundings. She was a little too big for U-turns and stopped traffic a few times.

This is a short Haddie run. This is what we see all day long. Wander, wander, oh a rock let me climb, Hey wait for me!

This was through Cade's Cove. Cade's Cove is one of the most popular points in the Smoky Mountains National Park. Great Smoky Mountains National Park is the most visited park in the National Park system. We should have known better. This is probably not really a Shullenbarger "thing". It was an 11-mile loop with stops, similar to Petrified Forrest and the Grand Canyon. It had ample signs to "pull over to look". People didn't really follow that. The road was one lane, one way. It took forever. We finally stopped getting out. We made it back to the pretty stream pull-offs we had noticed in the beginning where no one was and decompressed for a long time before it started raining. The streams were pretty.
