A happy birthday party was had by our first born.
A Redwall Feast with friends from near and far
The cake was the Badger fortress of Salamandastron.
The thank you gift was their own Martin the Warrior sword forged by the Furmole.
Her birthday proper was a quiet affair, slightly infringed upon by some Upward activities. She was gifted all 7 Harry Potter books presented to her by owl post over a scavenger hunt:
Your next supply can be found where you sit near
the door at the end of Diagon Alley
It is time to play a game with really long
“wands”. You will find your next supply
on the centerpiece of the golden-walled Griffyndor common room.
Sneak your next supply from the shelves at the
entrance to Slytherin house located in the dungeons of Hogwarts.
Hufflepuff members are willing to get their hands
dirty and work. Find your next supply
in their pink-walled kitchen.
Ravenclaw house members love to read in a quiet
place. Your next supply can be found
there in a comfortable place to sit.
Collect supplies for your potions class from the
cabinet that helps make little witches and wizards feel better.
Out of spite the Dursleys have hidden your most
important supply under your own bed.
We didn't see her much after that.
She did attend Middle School meeting Sunday evening though. So we get home from a whirlwind of life and she's off to bed. We pray; there we are on the couch in the living room and the following exchange happens:
Chris had been at the MS meeting with her and he's praying that "God would age her well."
Jess got the giggles as he's moving on and finally said "I can't take it. Rebekah's cheese!"
Chris continues, "and though you may grow moldy he will always be there to cut the mold revealing sweet, aged cheese."
Folks, Jess couldn't take it any more. "You mean Jesus is going to cut the cheese?!"
So glad Jesus used the imagery of vines in the Bible.
