Snow days without snow

Surprise! Yesterday was a snow day for us. This is the big weekend--friends from Pittsburgh and Elijah's first official birthday party. Since the cupboards were shamefully bare and it was 12 weeks to the day, we used this strange opportunity to go grocery shopping midday. God is so good to know what we need even when we don't. The house is almost ready for party and guests and we are definitely more at peace. However Chris was ready to go to school and we discovered a two hour delay. Then he went to school at 8 (school was to open at 9) and Jaci calls in the same boat saying, "it's now cancelled!" Who are we to complain?
