Aren't they so sweet? Every night for the last, never mind, we've lost count but these two boys have slept sharing a queen bed. They've done wonderfully! We are blessed. Carlsbad Caverns was on our list of something to do in Texas. Two junior rangers got to work again. Unlike our Lurray Caverns or

Crystal Grottos, Carlsbad begins under a mountain. The prickly pears are much bigger here. Our camera needs work. We got to

Carlsbad (the ONLY place we've really needed a camera) and the flash will not operate. Alas! We selected to take the trail down instead of the evelator planning to take the elevator up. It was an excellent choice. We passed many winded and sweaty climbers (well a few brave groups). One of

the most important rules the rangers asked us to follow was to be quiet. Haddie happily strapped onto Chris and off we went through the "bat cave". We hurried to get in front of a loud and rowdy family. We later separated ourselves from a group

that had cell phones and other electronic devices singing and glowing. ugh! The kids did really well remembering not to touch and to whisper. Another strange thing that happened was when Chris received our entrance vouchers we were asked if we had been in any caverns in the last year.

Rebekah and Jessica had. We were then asked if we were wearing any

of the clothing, shoes, or camera from that trip. Thankfully we could say, "no". Like Grand Canyon, Carlsbad is vast. Having been to Lurray, Carlsbad's formations are not as impressive or majestic. Still, walking in 58 degrees on a 104 degree day was awesome. The walk took us ~2 hours. It was great.

Haddie loves water, the bathtub most of all.
