day 7 Road to No Where

more rocks. they cut this road out of the rocks. it used to go some where.

This is the most sun we've seen since we've been here. It's a pretty road.
Grover lets us know we need to make a U-turn. There is no more purple to drive on.

The road is barricaded to car traffic. This didn't stop a random motorcyclist from returning to the road through the poles.

The trail continues on a first layer of pavement.
Then the tunnel. The tunnel made for a lot of glowing. Haddie's hair glowed like her face look in this picture all the way through.
Yes, these are the Shullenbargers in the tunnel for 2 minutes...filming was started at halfway.

On the other side.

Blue and black butterflies with white and orange spots.
We had packed the lunch to eat after the tunnel. We sat down to picnic but it didn't "feel" right. There were people "off the trail" making construction noises but no official gear to show they were doing something important. We did not walk to the lake that now cuts off the road to no where. It was flooded when the dam was finished. We ate in the car while a park ranger tended to a van with a broken window. She was attempting to left finger prints. Galilee needed eat but so did everyone else. We improvised an eating area for the Bay-Bay by sticking her in her hiking pack and standing it in the passenger's front feet area. Jess had room for her feet too and Baby G was happy and full.
