Haddie's week--video added

February and March saw us chasing doctors for Haddie. She appointments for a second opinion on her leg at University of Maryland Medical Center. She had one for her belly button which was thankfully at a satellite in Frederick since we had been to Children's twice already, including once for Elijah's foot. Her exam room was pink and had princess decor. She approved and like Dr. Kane. After a snafu with the cell phone and a week of phone tag we were able to schedule surgery. Pah and Grandma DJ came to watch everyone. Chris took the day off and we took Haddie to Children's. She was a trooper. She got a little bored waiting to be called back. She got bumped from 10 to 12 which we knew but didn't get taken back until 100.

We sang a lot of Jesus love me and this little light of mine, watched too much Disney junior, and finally she settled on "football"-- the JMU basketball game. Haddie was a riot on baby Valium. We left her at 150. They wheeled her to the OR--clocked her in at 200 and she was under by 209. She was out at at 235 and we saw her at 245 very groggy and angry. Had some trouble with her nurse who didn't seem to be her nurse but a fill in. She settled down when her duty nurse came. We left at 330 hungry, tired, and for Haddie sore. During recovery she's been very vocal about not touching but G really wanted to take care of her. She looked like a little old lady for a couple of days in her posture.

She spent all of Wednesday standing or leaning on something. She didn't want to lay down or sit. Haddie picked legs to rest on. She'd just sidle up and put just her head in your lap. When asked if she wanted to climb up she'd say, "No." She rested on the stool, leaned on the couch, and slept at the table or island. Her incision bandage looks great--no discoloration, no oozing, not wet, and not red. Way to go, Dr. Kane and Haddie!
