The Pacific Ocean

Goal #3 for the travel itinerary: see the Pacific Ocean hence our "Sea to Shining Sea" tour name. We made it to San Diego and found something we hadn't seen in ages...traffic! WE had picked a specific area to be in. We headed out to see the sun set over the Ocean. Guide books warned the free parking went fast. It was Saturday evening and after one unsuccessful pass around the lot (our first choice was met with "you don't want to park here it's not a spot and we got a ticket") we hunkered down and waited and GOT ONE! Now the Pacific we were told is cold. True but no more than Harpers Ferry. Issue was the wind. We played in the sand, braver ones played in the ocean, sandfoot was invented, and supper unpacked. Dinner had been spaghetti upon arrival at the hotel. Jessica dug out a spot for the kids mostly for protection of the food but it ended up providing a lot of warmth too and they were appreciative and happy. The clouds interfered with sunset but it proved pretty anyway.
